Hole 1: The Runway
Men’s: Par 5 | Ladies’: Par 4
Start your round with options. Keep your tee shot straight and you’ll give yourself a real chance to reach the green in two and start the round with a birdie look. Out of bounds lines both sides, so anything offline can turn into trouble quickly.
Yards: 489 | 464 | 366 | 344
Hole 2: Peace of Mind
Par 3
Short and scenic, but deceptively tricky. The wind can change everything. Miss left and you’re re-teeing. Miss right and your ball may keep rolling long after you’ve stopped watching.
Yards: 151 | 136 | 130 | 119
Hole 3: Herman’s
Men’s: Par 4 | Ladies’: Par 4
A downhill fairway framed by pastel homes and Devonshire views. Keep it straight and enjoy an easier swing. Drift right and you’ll meet “Herman’s,” the well-placed fairway bunker that gave the hole its name.
Yards: 375 | 356 | 296 | 275
Hole 4: Up and Over
Men’s: Par 4 | Ladies’: Par 5
A blind tee shot of about 225 yards sets up a short iron into a raised, two-tier green, one of the toughest on the course. Accuracy matters here, with hazards guarding both sides. Your approach plays toward the historic Old Clubhouse, once the course’s final hole.
Yards: 375 | 362 | 330 | 319
Hole 5: Mary Prince
Men’s: Par 5 | Ladies’: Par 5
Named for Bermudian hero Mary Prince, who once lived near the Old Clubhouse, this is a true risk-reward hole. Long hitters can go for the green in two, but bunkers and brush make it a demanding play. Shorter hitters can still set up a birdie chance with three well-placed shots.
Yards: 508 | 492 | 452 | 436
Hole 6: Rex
Men’s: Par 4 | Ladies’: Par 5
The hardest hole on the course, with little room for error. Miss the fairway and you’ll find yourself in “Rex,” the valley that makes reaching the green in two a real challenge. Add an uphill approach and unpredictable wind, and even par feels well earned.
Yards: 397 | 377 | 346 | 329
Hole 7: Graveyard
Men’s: Par 3 | Ladies’: Par 3
This hole is named for the resting place of one of the property’s first owners. A small green surrounded by bunkers leaves little room for error. Birdies are rare, but the local red and blue birds are regular onlookers.
Yards: 196 | 172 | 141 | 126
Hole 8: The Depot
Men’s: Par 4 | Ladies’: Par 4
Bordering Bermuda’s local bus depot, this downhill hole plays friendly from the tee. A wide fairway and short approach invite scoring, provided you avoid the fairway and greenside bunkers. The wind can still have its say, so don’t get too comfortable.
Yards: 356 | 331 | 301 | 281
Hole 9: Almond Tree
Men’s: Par 3 | Ladies’: Par 3
A memorable way to finish the round. The almond tree in the distance marks the safest line into a long, sloping green. Miss short and trouble comes into play, while long shots leave a testing recovery. Passing traffic below adds one last reminder of Ocean View’s uniquely local setting.
Yards: 197 | 171 | 142 | 126
